I love food and wish everyone would be conscious of what they put in their mouths... where does it come from? what is it made out of? what nutritional value does it have? I by no means have a "perfect" diet... I eat WHAT I want, WHEN I want... BUT I am very conscious of what I eat and I pick and choose my "food battles". I am gluten-free-ish with a wheat intolerance so I avoid it for the most part. This BLOG will document What.I.Eat. Thanks for reading... or... viewing!

Morning time...
Morning COFFEE. YUM. Still drinking it with 10% cream... will be looking for Silk coffee cream this weekend. I wana eat as little dairy as possible... grossing me out the more I know about it. Why do we drink another species breast milk? I have no clue... not for calcium or vitamin D because those are readily available in other HEALTHIER foods. Dairy = Fat... and not the good kind.

I'd be less worried about the fat and more worried about the puss. Like other mammals, cows only produce milk after giving birth so dairy cows are constantly impregnated and birthing so that they can be pumped. I won't get into the animal rights issues, but you can see where they exists. The pump chaffs the udder (like a infant chaffs a nipple), and eventually, the skin cracks and sores develop.
ReplyDeleteThis is why, 1)the dairy industry has a bad rap; 2)it's healthier for the cows and for consumers to buy their dairy products from small, local dairies (Cochrane's Dairy serves the ottawa area); and 3) pasteurization is so important because it eliminates the majority of bacteria, puss and impurities.
